Low E glass for storm windows

  • Higher room side glass temperatures:
    Minimizes cold transfers from glass to air.  Reduces air convection that causes air drafts from windows, Low E glass makes rooms more comfortable, even at lower thermostat settings.

    Low E glass minimizes unpleasant condensation: it permits you to enjoy a more comfortable humidity level in your house and helps to protect against mildew and wood rot.

    Low E glass helps reduce ultraviolet light: minimizing the fading of drapes, carpeting and furniture.
  • No color distortion.  
    Because Low E glass is a neutral color, it will perfectly match your existing windows and decor.

Low E glass is a thin metallic coating on one surface of the glass.  It works by reflecting the longer infrared wavelengths.  It will reflect heat back in during the cold winter and reflect heat out during the hot summer.
